Did you know that?
-
Regular exercise can uplift
your mood. Aerobic exercise is considered best for endorphin release
because it is an endurance activity. A brisk 40 minute walk can have a
great effect on mood levels. Most regular exercisers report more energy and a
clearer mind and better self esteem. Symptoms like depression and
anxiety can sometimes disappear within 20 minutes of starting.
-
There is now a new
product called Moodlift which contains the naturally
occurring substance SAM-e (S-adnosylmethionine), a potent mood
regulator to help you get the most out of life.
Moodlift
is the exciting new natural alternative for emotional
well being, joint health and liver function.
Moodlift
contains the naturally occurring
SAM-e ( S - adenosylmethionine ) which is a substance that occurs in
the brain. It encourages brain cells to be more responsive to the mood
promoting chemicals Seratonin and Dopamine. Supplementing with
Moodlift can help to treat a number of ailments including low mood
and emotional imbalance.
The substance SAM-e ;
-
is the most
researched of any natural supplements. It is supported by over 40 clinical
trials published in journals such as Lancet, American Journal of
Psychiatry, British Journal of Psychiatry and JAMA. SAM-e has been used
effectively in 14 countries for over two decades and is one of the most
popular supplements in the USA.
-
is clinically safer and
acts six times faster than St Johns Wort and therefore can help with liver
function
-
has been used
successfully for twenty years worldwide
-
is enteric coated so
that it is delivered to the site of absorption
-
SAM-e also works fast and doesn't cause any significant side effects.
-
can actually assist
with the relief of the symptoms of osteoarthritis
Moodlift
can help you to maintain a positive outlook and is recommended
by former Wheel of Fortune co - host, Adriana Xenides, who
realised Moodlift started to work almost immediately for her.
What is SAM-e?
SAM-e is not a vitamin, mineral or a herb. It's a
molecule that all living
cells, including human cells, constantly produce. Our body makes SAM-e by
combining an essential amino acid called methionine (found in fish, meat and
dairy product) and adenine triphosphate (a molecule important for energy
production). SAM-e is responsible for a very important biological process
called methylation. Methylation occurs a billion times per second in your
body affecting everything from cell function to liver function to brain
function. Life would not exist without methylation. Methylation,
simply put, is when one molecule donates a molecular branch - containing one
carbon and three hydrogen atoms known as a methyl group - to another
molecule and SAM-e is the body's most important and most active methyl
group donor.
How does it work?
Our mood is regulated by chemical messengers in the brain known as
neurotransmitters. Neurotransmitters are responsible for communications
between neurones (brain cells). These neurotransmitters travel from one
neuron and attach themselves to receptor molecules in other neurones
triggering a chemical reaction. This occurs millions of times in only
seconds and the result is what we call 'a good mood.' For proper brain
function and to stay in a 'good mood' the brain needs to maintain a certain
level of the neurotransmitters L-dopamine, serotonin and norepinephrine.
Many cases of low mood occur when the levels of these neurotransmitters drop
dramatically. This is usually caused by both exogenous (environmental)
factors such unpleasant events and endogenous (biological) factors such as
genetics. What SAM-e does, by donating it methyl group, is enhance the
affect of the neurotransmitters responsible for mood by inhibiting their
breakdown or by speeding up the production of the receptor molecules that
these neurotransmitters attach themselves to. (5)
SAM-e also makes these receptor molecules more responsive. It does this by
keeping the neuron membrane, which the receptors float on, less thick and
glutinous (the thickness is caused by aging) so the receptors have the
ability to move and respond quicker to on-coming chemical messengers.
SAM-e begins to make a noticeable different in a very short period of time.
Several studies report almost immediate response. Most people benefit within
4 days, which is faster than many antidepressants drugs and up to 6 times
faster than St John's Wort.
Other Benefits of MoodLift
Joint Health
The biological impact of SAM-e is not limited to the brain. The largest
clinical studies done on SAM-e have been on it's supports of connective
tissue. Results show it helps maintain joint strength by supplying sulfur
compounds to the joints. It does this by transulfuration. Sulphur is an
integral element for connective tissue maintenance and SAM-e is the
precurser of the sulfur amino acids cysteine and taurine. These two
compounds provide sulphur to the building blocks of connective tissue
glucosamine and chondroitin sulphates. In turn these components help
maintain healthy and mobile joints.
Liver Function
SAM-e is responsible for the manufacture of a substance called Glutathione.
Glutathione is the most powerful and ubiquitous antioxdiant your body
produces. It is also the most important substance in the liver. When
glutathione levels in the liver are depleted the liver cannot break down the
damaging toxins that enter the body. Glutathione also inhibits the
deleterious effects of inflammation throughout the body. SAM-e, through
transulfuration, provides the building blocks and the maintenance of this
important anti-oxidant.
As with all medications and
supplements, if symptoms persist, consult your health care professional.
Caution !!
Persons taking prescribed medications such as anti - depressants, including
Selective Serotonin Re uptake Inhibitors, Tricyclics and Monoamide Oxidase
Inhibitors should consult a physician before using. Individuals with Bi -
Polar disorder should not use SAM-e
