"Hydralyte Liquid is a specifically formulated electrolyte solution containing the correct balance of essential electrolytes and glucose.
Hydralyte contains a sodium which is necessary for the body to retain water, and potassium which is vital for the functioning of nerves and muscle. Both these electrolytes may be lost very quickly and in large amounts as a result of diarrhoea and vomiting.
Hydralyte also contains a small amount of glucose a sugar that improves the absorption of electrolyte and water through the wall of the intestine and into the bloodstream.
Hydralyte helps replace electrolytes lost during mild to moderate dehydration. Often caused by:
- Bouts of vomiting and diarrhoea
- Sweating and lack of fluid intake due to fever
- Heavy sweating from heat exposure
- Excessive amounts of alcohol
- Heavy sweating during exercise

| Dosage |
|
Do not dilute. Sip slowly. Refrigerate after opening - store below 30 degrees C.
Under 12 months: 100mL every 90 minutes;
1 to 3 years: 100mL every 90 minutes;
3 to 6 years:100mL every 60 minutes
7 to 12 years: 100mL every 30 minutes;
12 years to adult: 200mL every 30 minutes. |

Purified water, glucose, citric acid, potassium citrate, sodium chloride, colour 110, natural flavours, artificial sweetener 955 (sucralose), potassium sorbate, sodium benzoate. |

| Warning |
|
Seek medical advice in infants if diarrhoea persists for more than:
- 6 hours in infants under 6 months
- 12 hours in children under 3 years
- 24 hours in children aged 3-6 years
- 48 hours for adults and children over 6 years.
Dehydration due to vomiting and diarrhoea can be dangerous in young children under 5 years old, babies and old people.
Avoid full strength fruit juice, soft drink, sport drinks or cordial, as these can speed up the dehydration process by worsenig diarrhoea and stripping the body of essential mineral salts and fluids. |
